About our priest: Rev. Nathan Symeon Adams

Fr. Nathan Symeon serves as Administrator of Our Lady of Wisdom in Las Vegas, Nevada, and as vice-chairman of the Eastern Catholic Eparchial Directors of Religious Education. He is also the Director of Religious Education and Evangelization for the Eparchy of Phoenix. He is currently working on an STL at St. Mary of the Lake Pontifical University in Dogmatic Theology. He completed a DTS with Youth With a Mission in Queensland Australia. He also received his Bachelor’s Degree in Biblical Theology from Calvary Chapel Bible College, in Murrieta, CA.; a Master of Christian Thought (MACT) from Reformed Theological Seminary, in Oviedo, FL.; a Master of Divinity (M. Div.) from the Master’s Seminary in Sun Valley, CA.; a certificate in Anglican Studies and a Master of Sacred Theology (STM) from Nashotah House Seminary in Nashotah, WI. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from SS. Cyril and Methodius Byzantine Catholic Seminary in Pittsburgh, PA. with a Master of Arts in Theology (MAT). He and his wife have been married for 18 years and have five daughters.

About our clergy

Seminarian Stephen Melancon

Stephen was born in 1965 in Hobbs, New Mexico. He married his high school sweetheart, Betsy, in 1985. They have six children and nine grandchildren and counting. Stephen has a bachelor’s degree in special education and a master’s in education from Southern Utah University. He spent his early career serving children and adults with disabilities. Stephen was a National Board-Certified high school special education teacher and coached high school soccer and track. Since 2012, Stephen has worked for the Knights of Columbus and currently serves the Catholic community in Southern Nevada as a Financial Advisor. Raised a Roman Catholic, Stephen changed rites and became a Byzantine Catholic in 2010. In 2019, Stephen began the four-year diaconal studies program through the Byzantine Catholic Seminary of Saints Cyril and Methodius in Pittsburg, PA. He completed the program in the Spring of 2023 and now awaits ordination. Stephen is a cantor at Our Lady of Wisdom Italo-Greek Byzantine Catholic Church. Stephen enjoys gardening. He is a guitar player and a songwriter. 

Sub-Deacon David Vonderohe

A Las Vegas native, Subdeacon David graduated from UNLV with a bachelor’s degree in philosophy while serving in the US Air Force. Under the guidance of Father Francis Vivona, Bishop Gerald Dino and Bishop John Pazak, he began his priestly formation with a spirituality year guided by the Eparchy of Phoenix. He then attended Ss. Cyril and Methodius Byzantine Catholic Seminary for two years before continuing his education and priestly formation in Rome, Italy. While receiving priestly formation from the Dicastery for the Oriental Churches at the Pontifical Greek College, he completed his S.T.B. from the Pontifical Gregorian University, achieving the grade of Magna Cum Laude. Subdeacon David is currently studying Canon Law at the Pontifical Oriental Institute in Rome.
